After rereading my last post and talking to a few friends who had read it, I wanted to clarify that my friends from the neighborhood really are nice people. Really! It was not intentional that they told me/us to wear costumes and hardly anyone else did. As stated earlier, I just happen to be an overacheiver and if you tell me costume, I don't just put on a black dress with a shot glass around my neck and say "I'm a shot in the dark!" (saw that as an idea for a costume on the TODAY show a few days ago). I like to step things up a notch.
Just yesterday we were all letting the kids play in the street and while I was giving them a hard time about the whole situation, one of the girls explained that her husband was dressed as a "coach". Hmmmm.....looked like he was just wearing his favorite team's shirt, but who am I to say? And many of the girls were dressed up, just not quiiiiiiite as much as me. Those bunny ears and the white leotard sort of grab ya. Know what I mean?
If any of the neighborhood kids were unsure of who I was before, trust me, they all know now.
Last night, kids playing....."you were the bunny!"
Yup.
