As Austin would say (while cupping his hand under his chin), "hmmmm......" as he thinks of the answer. I am loving all of his little quirks these days as he is becoming such a big boy! He is so much fun at this age, and seems to have endless energy! He is definitely keeping us on our toes. So what is a "Wah-train"? Well, that is Austin's word for dinosaur. Yep, you got it....dinosaur. That one is a head scratcher. The only thing I can put together is that he loves the show on PBS called "Dinosaur Train" and whenever he asks us to watch the show, he says "wah-train?". So maybe that's "watch train?" as in Dinosaur Train? Who knows. I do know it's pretty cute to hear him talk, and there are many words that only yours truly, "Mama", can interpret. Just for memory recording here are a few.....
"cua mel" = chocolate milk
"watch why?" = can I watch "Super Why"? (show on PBS)
"boo bar?" = can I have a fruit bar?
"hey Bay!" = how he always says hello to our dog Bailey
"wah-train poh?" = can we work on the dinosaur puzzle?
"cool cars?" = can I play with my hot wheels cars?
"ray?" = can I have some raisins?
I always tell the babysitters we use that Austin sort of speaks in half words. He kind of says the beginning of quite a few words he uses. Hopefully in the upcoming months he will be able to sound out his words a little bit better and we won't be so confused. One day at a time, right?
One of the words he says very clearly is "pray". I love the fact that my little man reminds us to pray if we sometimes forget at lunch or when we are at a restaurant. His Daddy taught him to hold hands while we pray, so now we do just that.....we all hold hands at the beginning of each meal, and say our prayers. Just yesterday, we were with my family, and during the prayer we prayed for a specific family member and then said "Amen". Then Austin said, "Wait! Papa, Nonna, Bay....". Apparently, Papa (my Dad), Nonna (my Mom), and Bailey (our dog) needed to be added to the prayer. I love it! He warms my heart.
I apologize for my lack of a photo on this post. I need to get my camera out again and take some new pics of Austin. He is such a miracle to me. I am so very thankful for his precious life.
Austin, Mama loves you with all of her heart.
