Today was filled with such a mix of emotions, but ended on a very positive note! Ernest and I went in for our first sono at 1:30 today with our Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE). At first, we thought we had twins as there were two gestational sacs showing up on the screen, but when we looked a bit closer, only one had a baby inside. The other sac was empty. I was diagnosed as having one blighted ovum. I just looked up the definition: "A blighted ovum (also known as “anembryonic pregnancy”) happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop. Cells develop to form the pregnancy sac, but not the embryo itself. A blighted ovum usually occurs within the first trimester before a woman knows she is pregnant. A high level of chromosome abnormalities usually causes a woman’s body to naturally miscarry." So, while this was a little difficult, we did have a wonderful report on the other baby. Here are two of the sonogram pictures! (I think you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.) We were so excited to learn that the baby is measuring 3 days ahead of schedule! So today we were 6 weeks 6 days walking into the appointment, and now we are 7 weeks 2 days! The length from crown to rump is 11.4 mm. So amazing! 
This last picture measures the heartbeat. What a true miracle to be able to already view that tiny little heart beating on the screen! It was beating at 139 beats per minute! I haven't fully researched this yet or compared it to other pregnancies at our same point, but the doctor and sonographer said that was a very healthy heartbeat. We are SO thankful!
So, now we are graduates from our specialist! How wonderful! Our next sonogram with be with our OB/GYN, Dr. Tracy Speight on December 27. What a miraculous day! How could anyone ever take this miracle for granted! God is so good!
We thank you all again and again for your prayers and well wishes! We continue to pray for the growth of this little bean and for his or her health as well as mine.

Amen sister! One of Trinity's nicknames is "Bean" because she looked like a little kidney bean! 139 is a fantastic heart rate! No matter what, this baby will certainly be loved.
