So I called Austin's plastic surgery office (that sounds so funny! I'm such a vain Mom. Ha!) and asked the nurse for the results of the MRI, and she said that the MRI determined that his cyst is, in fact, a hemangioma. Hmmm! The doctor thought for sure it was a dermoid cyst. Hemangiomas do go away, eventually, so that part is good. (most people call them "strawberries" because they are usually red in color) But they can sometimes take a few years to go away. She set up an appointment to speak with the doctor about everything next Wednesday. We'll discuss all of our options then. I'd love to just have it removed, but I also don't want to do anything that may not be necessary.
Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!
